Alex Reid insists Chantelle Houghton knew "everything" about his "weird and wonderful" sex life before they got engaged but he admits he only told her he had had sex with other men after their daughter was born.

The former couple - who have a five-month-old daughter called Dolly together - split in September, with Chantelle claiming she had just found out the cage-fighter had slept with men and enjoyed sex dressed as his female alter ego Roxanne.

Alex - who was previously married to Katie Price - said: "I'm a heterosexual guy who likes a bit of kinkiness. I'm obviously sexually liberated and very open-minded.

"But Chantelle knew everything before we got together.

"Was she the only person in this country who didn't know I was a cross-dresser? Chantelle saw me as Roxanne.

"I told her that I'd sexually experimented with all sorts of weird and wonderful things and I'd tried practically everything.

"In my opinion she knew all about me, so what she's been saying makes no sense to me."

However, Alex, 37, admits he didn't tell Chantelle he had slept with other men until after Dolly was born.

In an interview with this week's Now magazine, he said: "In my younger years I did experiment with men but that was before I met Chantelle or Katie.

"After we had Dolly I sat down and made it clear that I'd slept with men back in the day. But she still wanted to marry me.

"In my youth I was curious and experimented but I soon found out that I preferred sex with women. That's why I married Katie and got engaged to Chantelle.

"I wanted to be with a woman and spend the rest of my life with a woman I love."

The 29-year-old blonde beauty maintains Alex told her his cross dressing was a publicity stunt and she called off their relationship because he had lied.

Her representative said: "Alex told Chantelle Roxanne was just a publicity stunt, so she was shocked when she walked in on him dressed up while she was eight months pregnant.

"After she gave birth, she found a text from a man, then Alex confessed to having had sexual experiences with men.

"She knew things couldn't work as he'd lied to her from the start and wasn't the man he claimed to be.

"It was a devastating blow for a new mum whose fiancé should've been honest from the start."
