Bastille made their feelings on Brexit known during their Radio One Live Lounge performance following the EU Referendum.

The British band changed the lyrics to their smash hit Pompeii during their live acoustic set from Glastonbury on Friday morning.

After speaking out in support of the Remain campaign on Thursday, the indie chart-topping band decided to comment on the outcome through the medium of song.

Altering the well-known lyrics, Dan Smith sang: “And the pound kept tumbling down on the weekend that we love.”

The band urged their fans to vote Remain this week and even played a special London gig prior to the referendum.

Hosted in Lily Cole’s own office, the secret concert was billed as a ‘celebration of voting’ and urged all music fans to make their voices heard.

Speaking ahead of the event, Cole said: “We’ve totally framed this as a neutral event.

“Whilst I’ve been open about my feelings, I haven’t wanted to shove that down other people’s throats... It’s a simple, neutral call to arms to try and engage a high voter turnout this Thursday.”
