BBC Radio 1 Hide and Seek with Nick Grimshaw and Greg James: All you need to know
Radio 1 DJs Nick Grimshaw and Greg James are going head to head with their listeners in a bumper edition of hide and seek.
On Tuesday morning, Grimshaw, James and fellow DJs Maya Jama and Jordan North were whisked away from the studio unexpectedly, leaving Adele Roberts to continue hosting the breakfast show with Clara Amfo.
Before leaving the studio, a mysterious audio told them: “Transport is waiting for you outside. You will be taken to the Tower of London. You will receive further instructions at 8 am.”
Whilst Maya and Jordan had seemingly no idea what was going on, Greg and Grimmy knew exactly what the gig was, with Greg unveiling the task in a video posted on Twitter: “Hide and seek is back for 2019. Listen from 4 pm today, that’s when the game begins.”
They then set off in a jet ski down the Thames and will spend the remainder of the day making their way to a secret location.
It will be the job of Radio 1 listeners to find them, based on a series of clues. What we do know is that sites including hospitals, fire stations, police stations, derelict building or military bases are excluded from the search.
Listeners will surely have their work cut out from them, as last year’s game lasted for 24 hours – with the mischievous Radio 1 DJs eventually being found in Liverpool.
