It's amazing the transformation that can be made with a touch of makeup and new clothes.

The 12 acts who've made it through to the X Factor finals were this week given star treatment ahead of the live shows, which will kick off on Saturday.

After the sartorial experts had sprinkled their magic style dust, the key theme seemed to be that the hopefuls now look more polished and less... how can we say it... ordinary?
