Bella Hadid has opened up about her split from The Weeknd, saying she will always love him.

Hadid – who dated the musician for nearly two years – said the break-up has been “hard” but that she wants them to remain amicable.

Speaking to Teen Vogue she said: “It was my first breakup … and so public. As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily.

“It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through. But I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him.

“Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”

The Weeknd has since been linked to Justin Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez.

The pair recently traveled to Florence, Italy, where they were pictured holding hands and sharing a kiss over dinner.

Hadid and The Weeknd were first linked back in April 2015 when Hadid posed for the artwork for his album artwork.
