Bestival 2016: Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul announced as Sunday night headliners
Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul have been announced as the Sunday night headliners for this year’s Bestival.
The final night of this year’s music festival on the Isle of Wight will feature a joint headline act, sharing the bill on the main stage.
Khalifa and Paul are the final additions to this year’s line-up, after The Cure, Major Lazer and Hot Chip were also announced as headliners earlier this year.
In a statement, Jamaican singer Paul said: “I can't wait to play at Bestival.
“I've heard the grand finale on the Sunday night is the best festival spot in the UK and I'm gonna bring the fyyyaahhh.”
Khalifa then said: “Can’t wait to be back in the UK and perform at Bestival. The fans here have such good energy, it’s going to be lit.”
“We love a big finale at Bestival," said Bestival founder, Rob da Bank. "We also love hip-hop and dancehall.
“A massive soundsystem superclash between Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul seems like a solid plan to close off another big weekend of music, of raving, partying and expanding your minds at Bestival.
Festivals in London this summer
Organisers have also announced a Purple Rave, which will take place on the Sunday, featuring an audio-visual tribute to Prince.
Other acts scheduled to appear include Years & Years, The Human League, Wolf Alice and Skepta.
Bestival 2016 takes place September 8-11.
