Beyonce was hailed a “superstar” by Toni Braxton who fangirled over the US artist after she paid homage to her on Halloween.

The Crazy in Love singer, 37, channelled the legendary singer by perfectly recreating the cover of her hit single Another Sad Love Song.

Beyonce renamed herself “Phoni Braxton” as she donned a cropped black wig, red lips and a leather jacket to work Braxton’s famous pose.

She posted the image alongside the original 1993 cover, referring to Braxton as a “legend”.

“Sending love and adoration to one of our talented legends,” she wrote. “Thank you for the countless bops. Your tone, your beauty, your range, and your God-given talent is treasured. Loving you always. Have a Happy Halloween my Kings and Queens.”

Braxton was clearly ecstatic at Queen Bey’s Halloween costume and hailed her better looking than her own cover.

She tweeted: “Phoni Braxton!? NEVER!!!

“How do you look better than me on MY album cover? I LOVE IT, Such a superstar!

“Thanks for the love sis! Happy Halloween. Who run the world...GIRLS! GIRLS!”

Fans were equally enamoured with some calling for the singers to collaborate while others questioned how Beyonce “wins Halloween EVERY YEAR?!”

Another tweeted: “The only thing to make this a full circle moment is for Toni to be Queen Bey!”

A third said they had been reduced to tears, posting: “Made me cry. So happy to see this. Thank you @beyonce (sic).”

Beyonce doesn't shy away from going all out on Halloween, having channelled Lil Kim, Barbie and Ken and a bumble bee in 2011.
