From Harry Potter and Matilda to Bing Bunny - famous faces and their kids have revealed their favourite characters in honour of World Book Day.

The annual event gives children the chance to dress up as much-loved fictional heroes and some of the stars themselves haven’t been able to resist getting involved too.

Amanda Holden and her Heart Radio colleagues kicked things off by dressing as Tinkerbell and Captain Hook to present their breakfast show.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Holden then dashed home and shared a super sweet video of her daughter Hollie as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz - complete with red slippers and Toto the dog, of course.

Meanwhile, Rochelle Humes revealed her kids Alaia-Mai and Valentina Raine are big fans of Matilda and Bing Bunny (the latter is the star of a hugely popular book series by Ted Dewan).

Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s adorable son Kit also plumped for a classic character, sporting an adorable Cat in the Hat costume and smiling for the camera while clutching the Dr Seuss picture book.

Amy Childs’ posted a picture of her daughter, Polly, who was dressed as Disney princess Belle, with the caption: “Awww my darling princess.

"her first ever #worldbookday2020 how beautiful does she look. please stop growing polly.” [sic]

The Heart Radio gang aren’t the only grown-ups who got involved in the fun, as David Walliams - who has also penned his own hugely successful kids’ books - shared a hilarious photograph of himself as the BFG.

Myleene Klass - who previously dressed her two daughters as herself on World Book Day - is yet to reveal if her offspring are sporting costumes again.
