Actress Chloe Sevigny has welcomed her first child with boyfriend Sinisa Mackovic.

A representative for the star, 45, confirmed she gave birth over the weekend and both mother and child are "happy and healthy".

No further details, including the baby's name and sex, were revealed.

Sevigny, a Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee, has been documenting her pregnancy on Instagram and expressed her solidarity with other expectant mothers fearful amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In March, hospitals in New York announced fathers would not be allowed to be present at birth as a precaution.

Sevigny said: "I hope all expecting families are finding some calm. Today's news in NY was very distressing for all. £support £prayers."

News of her pregnancy broke in January when she was spotted strolling through New York alongside Mackovic with her growing baby bump on show.

The actress, who has appeared in films including American Psycho, Zodiac and Mr Nice, has been dating art gallery director Mackovic for over a year.
