Chris Evans has suggested that the Duchess of Sussex may have already given birth to her first child.

The Virgin Radio breakfast show host alluded to recent reports that the Queen joined the Duke and Duchess at Frogmore House over the Easter weekend during today’s broadcast, as he teased colleague Rachel Horne with a series of cryptic hints.

“We sit here still finding ourselves, some say minus a new royal baby or do we… ladies and gentleman?” the presenter told listeners earlier today, prompting Horne to ask: “What do you know?”

“I’m not sure what I know, but I think I know something,” Evans continued, adding: “I’m just saying, I’m just putting it out there, right? The Queen has been to see Meghan and Harry.

“At their place, right? Now, she doesn’t do that. That’s all I’m saying.”

Horne then asked: “When, was it last night, was it this morning, middle of the night? I need details!”

Evans responded: “The Queen has been to see them. Now, that doesn’t happen.”

The Duke and Duchess, who announced news of the pregnancy in October, confirmed last month that they will keep details of the birth private.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” a palace statement read.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.

“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Prince Harry made a surprise visit to the London Marathon on Sunday, meeting with volunteers and presenting medals to the marathon and wheelchair winners.

The royal’s presence suggested that his wife was not expected to give birth imminently.
