As one of the world’s most enduring supermodels, Christy Turlington’s beauty appears to be ageless.

But the 47-year-old cover girl intends to grow old gracefully.

For Miss Turlington, who is married to actor and director Ed Burns, that means no Botox or fillers or any kind of ‘freaky’ plastic surgery.

"For years these things didn't even exist: collagen, fat cells, the crazy stuff people do I cannot imagine," she said.

"Maybe I would think differently if I thought it looked good and it didn't hurt and it didn't send bad messages to young people. But I've never seen someone who I've been like, 'Oh, that's a good idea.' It looks freaky to me."

The model, who appears on the cover of next month's 170th anniversary issue of Town & Country, told the magazine that she has no fear of the big 5-0.

"I wasn’t worried about aging at 16, and I’m not worried about it at 47," she said.

"It’s a fact of life, and it’s good that people close to me see that I’m relaxed and okay about aging, not neurotic or worried about it.

"To my kids, I’ll be the mum who barely shaves her legs, who doesn’t colour her hair," she added.

Even though she is famed along with the likes of Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, and Cindy Crawford:as being the first of the big earning supermodels, Miss Turlington said: "That's not me. I don't know what it is. I tried to do everything I could to distance myself from it. It doesn't come into play in my daily life at all. At all.

"The supermodel thing is not me. I don't know what it is. I tried to do everything I could to distance myself from it."

The mother of a 12-year-old girl says she stays young by running marathons. "Being who you are, being your best self, has nothing to do with what you look like," she insisted.
