Reality TV star Danielle Armstrong has paid a touching tribute to her best friend and “Princess” Sammy Brandon who has died after a three year battle with breast cancer.

Armstrong broke the news on Instagram where she shared a series of pictures as she tried to put into words how heartbroken she is.

“Last Night We Lost A Princess But Heaven Gained An Angel,” she posted.

“We have been friends for over 20 Years and I can’t even find the words to describe how I’m feeling apart from the fact I’m so blessed an honoured to call you my best friend.”

Armstrong said she is ‘taking comfort’ from the fact her friend is “no longer in pain but at peace”.

She continued: “Our beautiful Sammy the way you say Danieellleeee and that screaming infectious laugh I will miss so much. You will always be our 5th spice girl and I promise the whole world will get to know your story.

“Love you always Forever and you will always be in my heart my best friend my sister my Sammy our princess.”

In December 2016 Armstrong shared a picture of herself and Brandon enjoying a night out. She captioned the shot: “Last night we celebrated our beautiful @sammybrandon's first night out with the girls after a brave year fighting breast cancer.”

But in April Armstrong revealed the devastating news that her friend’s cancer was terminal. In an emotional Instagram post she said she couldn’t “find the words to describe the feelings, emotions and pain we are all going through” before urging fans to “cherish every moment you have with your loved ones and best friends”.

Former TOWIE star Jessica Wright also paid tribute, posting: “Heaven gained an angel yesterday. Sammy you were a light in so many peoples lives & my heart breaks at your loss & for your family.

“Stunning, kind, fun, wonderful person & you will be missed by so many.

“Your last words to me were ‘never change jess’ , right back at you beautiful girl thank you @daniellearmstrong88 for introducing me to your wonderful friend thinking of you & all at this sad time. Love you Sammy.”
