Desert Trip ‘mega-festival’ featuring The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan sells out in three hours
Tickets for the forthcoming Desert Trip ‘mega-festival’, featuring a roll-call of music legends have sold out in just three hours.
The eagerly-awaited two-day festival has a sterling line-up of acts including The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney.
But if fans were hoping to get themselves down to Indio, California in October to see their idols, then they should have been quicker off the mark.
According to Billboard, both scheduled weekends have completely sold out, just a few hours after the box office opened on Wednesday.
Sources suggest that 140,000 tickets have been sold in total, with 70,000 of the more expensive three-day tickets.
Individual day passes were sold for just £137, while more pricey tickets for the whole festival ranged from £483- £1,107.
Festivals in London this summer
After months of rumours, the ‘mega-festival’ was confirmed last month, after The Who’s Roger Daltry backed up reports.
Speaking to Canada’s Postmedia Network, Daltrey said: “I think it’s us and Roger Waters on the same day. It’s a fantastic idea for a festival. It’s the greatest remains of our era.
"I hope a lot of normal fans can get tickets before they get snatched up.”
Desert Trip runs from October 7-9 and October 14-16.
