Ellie Goulding has called on fans to respect her privacy after she claimed private pictures of her family members have been shared online.

Goulding, 29, was warned by a fan who told her that pictures had been stolen from a social media account belonging to her brother Alex.

In response to the warning, Ellie tweeted: “A couple of fans are posting private pics of my family onto fan pages etc and it's not fair.

“Please please respect their privacy.”

Alex’s Instagram has since been made private after he slammed fans of the On My Mind singer for stealing pictures from his account.

Writing on Twitter he posted: “You all think you can steal my family's photos like its normal. F*** OFF.

“I made my profile public for 5 minutes, and some disgraceful ‘fan page’ stole a photo and posted it themselves. W******.”

Fans were quick to offer their support to Ellie, and criticised those who were being “disrespectful”.

One user posted: “It's so bad that people don't understand the privacy of your family (sic).”

Another tweeted: “If they do that they are not fans!”

Others said they would report the culprits, with one female fan writing: “I know how you feel Ellie if I do see anything I will report them as it’s not fair for you (sic).”

Goulding is currently on holiday in Miami following her set at Coachella last weekend.
