David Beckham and Johnny Depp may have an army of fans – but it’s their offspring that are gaining attention.

Despite the famous lineage, a handful of offspring are shedding the baggage and stepping out from their parents’ fame to forge careers in their own rights.

Brooklyn Beckham has shunned following in the footsteps of his famous footballing father and is forging a career as a model and photographer. The 16-year-old modelled for Reserved and graced the cover of Miss Vogue and made his acting debut in The Vamps’ music video for Wake Up. With such a burgeoning career, David confessed to Graham Norton that Brooklyn gets recognised more than he does.

Johnny’s daughter Lily Rose and Jude Law’s son Rafferty Law are making waves in the fashion world. Lily made her Chanel debut earlier this year while Rafferty signed to Effra London.

Others, including Sting and Trudie Styler’s daughter Eliot Sumner, have followed in the musical footsteps of their parents. Eliot is set to release her second studio album, Information in 2016.

Micheal Neeson is quite literally following in his father Liam Neeson’s footsteps and is set to star as Michael Collins – the Irish revolutionary his father played almost 20 years ago – while Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Jordan Gerber has landed her first film role in Sister Cities, which is due to air in 2016.

So forget David and Johnny, it’s all about the next generation.
