Gogglebox star Dom Parker has suspected concussion after crashing during training for Channel 4's The Jump.

The 49-year-old - who makes up one half of TV watching couple Steph and Dom - is resting while his condition is monitored following the incident which took place yesterday as he attempted to tackle a ski cross course at Innsbruck, Austria.

Parker was racing on a 500-metre Ski Cross course, which last year resulted in Sir Steve Redgrave and Marcus Brigstocke pulling out of the reality show due to injuries.

A spokeswoman for the show, which also stars Heather Mills, Louise Thompson and Joey Essex, said: "Dom hurt his shoulder and later showed signs of suspected concussion, so was monitored and is now resting up."

Show bosses are hopeful that the star will be able to return to the slopes, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Parker – who is an experienced skier - said recently: "I've skied on and off since I was five years old. It's quite exciting - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be trained up to do this stuff.

"I'm not expecting to win, probably because I'm a bit old and a bit fat. But there's a part of me, deep down, thinking 'If I'm going to do it, I'd like to be the winner'."

Parker’s injury follows that of Strictly Come Dancing star Ola Jordan who was forced to withdraw from the show after undergoing knee surgery following a fall.

Sally Bercow – the wife of House Of Commons speaker John - has also had to pull out.

The Jump starts on Channel 4 at 7pm on Sunday February 1.
