Idina Menzel returns as Princess Elsa for Frozen short film featuring even catchier song
Frozen fans need not wait much longer as a short film following on from the hit Disney film is to be released next month.
The seven minute short titled Frozen Fever will see original cast members Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Anna), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf) reprise their roles, and a new song – which is said to be catchier than the 2013 hit Let It Go – written by husband-and-wife duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez will debut.
Josh Gad, who lends his voice to Olaf the snowman, said of the new track, in an interview with USA Today: “If history is any indicator, kids will go nuts.”
Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee have reunited to direct the short film which will see Anna throw a party for her sister Princess Elsa in a summery Arundel, but plans get skewed when the snow Queen catches a cold.
Speaking about the plot Lee said: “Elsa doesn't get a cold in the usual way. She's special. Surprising things occur that wreak a little havoc.”
The sequel will be shown ahead of the release of Disney's Cinderella on April 3.
