Jennifer Aniston’s husband Justin Theroux has commented on Brad Pitt’s split from Angelina Jolie.

The actor and director, who married Pitt’s ex-wife last year, has described the A-list couple’s break up as ‘horrible’.

Asked to comment on the high profile split during an on-camera interview on Monday, Theroux, 45, told Business Insider:

“As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you can really say.

“It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time. That's horrible.”

He also spoke out about the fact that his wife had been dragged into tabloid reports about the break-up.

“There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently – though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite,” he said.

“But I think a lot of people do because people buy it.”

Theroux added: “But there are bigger things to b**** about. It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.”

The actor is promoting forthcoming film The Girl On The Train, which is the big screen adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ smash hit novel.

Pitt said in a statement: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids.
