Jodie Kidd has opened up about her 'emotional' Masterchef experience ahead of this year's final.

The supermodel, 36, has described competing on the show as being 'totally immersive', admitting that it's one of the best things she's ever done.

Speaking to The Evening Standard, she said: "It was so fully immersive doing Masterchef that of course it changed everything.

"It changed my palette, it changed the way I looked at food, cooked food. It was an immense thing to do, and it will change anyone who is in it. Their cooking will change dramatically."

Kidd, who made it to the final on last year's show, has been keeping up with this year's competition and is particularly impressed with Rylan Clark.

She told us: "I can’t wait for the final, I’ve been watching it.

"I think Rylan is just brilliant, who’d have thought – he’s absolutely fab and he thinks outside the box and it’s really nice that he’s bringing things that he’s learnt from earlier in the show back into it.

Kidd, who is the brand ambassador for Appletiser, the Official Soft Drink of Ascot Racecourse, added: "But the other guys are fab, it’s going to be a tough one. Very tough."

The TV star, who has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and The Jump, admitted that she was done with competing on TV shows and is now concentrating on her presenting career.

She told us: "I’m pretty done with that, unless it’s something I can really learn. The personality tests wouldn't really interest me.

"A personality competition might not really be up my street, I really like to immerse myself in somehitng. So, I think I’ve done my lot."

Kidd, who is among those rumoured to be in the running for the new Top Gear job, admitted that she has new TV projects in the pipeline.

She said: "I’ve got my CNN show, I’ve got the classic car show, series 2 and I’ve got some other TV projects which are happening. One is a mad, crazy, adventurous one, a different thing in a different genre.

"They're all in pre-production so can’t really talk about it. Lots of fun TV stuff coming up."

Talking about her role with Appletiser, Kidd told us: "It’s a tie-in with Appletiser being the official sponsors of Ascot and obviously I love horses and horse-racing and I have a lot of lovely family ties with the King George race this weekend."
