Kate Upton hailed as new Marilyn Monroe as she stuns in lingerie shoot
Actress Kate Upton has been hailed as the new Marilyn Monroe.
Upton, 23, has often been compared to the iconic film star thanks to her blonde hair and curves, but now Carine Roitfeld has labelled her the new Marilyn.
Roitfeld made the comment after choosing the American model and actress to star in a calendar-style shoot for CR Men’s Book – a supplement of her CR Fashion Book.

"Kate has always been everything I love," Roitfeld said. "She is the opposite of me—a Marilyn of today.
The 60-year-old added: “For my new CR Men's Book, she represents different types of beauty and the sexual fantasies of all men. Enjoy!"

Speaking about why she chose Upton, Roitfeld said: “For nostalgia's sake alone, she was the first-ever cover star of CR Fashion Book's rebirth issue in 2012.”
The former Vogue Editor said she placed the Sports Illustrated model on the cover because she wasn't "normal" and had a "sensual body".
"I didn't want a normal model," Roitfeld said at the time. "I wanted someone with a sensual body, someone who could be a mother for all these babies... I would not say she's a controversial model but she's not a classic model. And I like that.
"Maybe people will be surprised that she was my first cover, but you know, I always like to surprise people."
