Kim Kardashian has been told by doctors she may have to use a surrogate if she wants to have a second child.

The reality television star, 34, was given the news as she underwent an emergency procedure to remove parts of her placenta which were still stuck to her uterus after giving birth to daughter North West.

Kim has reportedly been trying to conceive again with husband, rapper Kanye West, but the couple have so far been unsuccessful.

An episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashian screened on Sunday night showed Kim being told that surrogacy was her best option for having another child by fertility expert Dr Huang.

He told her: “You can still get pregnant but it does expose you to risks during the pregnancy, I can’t guarantee that.

“Surrogacy is the only way to give you a nice, healthy pregnancy and a nice healthy baby.”

Kim said during the episode it would be “annoying” if she could not carry her own baby.

Her mother Kris has suggested sister Kourtney could be a possible surrogate.
