Kim Kardashian reveals she didn’t want to name her daughter Chicago: ‘It messes with me’

Kim Kardashian has revealed that she didn’t want to name her daughter Chicago, admitting that the multiple syllables in the name “mess with me.”

The mother-of-three opened up on the Ellen Show about the process of naming her baby daughter.

Kardashian explained how she wanted Chicago’s name to be one syllable like her other children, North and Saint, and even had other plans for the name.

Speaking on her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show Kardashian said: “We were gonna name her Jo because my grandma Mary Jo or we were gonna go with Grace and then it was Chicago.

“It kind of messes with me, I'm not gonna lie. I really like the one syllable thing.”

When the beauty guru was quizzed by host DeGeneres about if husband Kanye West was the reason for Chicago’s name choice, Kardashian said she “didn’t even know.”

The 37-year-old said: “I don't even know...obviously because he's from Chicago but that is a place that made him.”

In a 2013 interview with HYPEBEAST, rapper West gushed over the city.

He said: “I'm lucky because I'm from Chicago. And because I'm from Chicago I don't give a f***,

“Someone from Chicago is very sincere. They don't give a f*** about what anybody is saying as long as it’s from their heart.

“That's what it means to be from Chicago or be from the Midwest.”
