Kym Marsh is to appear in court accused of fly-tipping after her Coronation Street scripts were found dumped.
The 36-year-old actress - who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap - faces a fine if she is found guilty after the TV documents were found at the side of the road, along with bags of rubble, in Worsley, Greater Manchester, close to the home in Salford she shares with fiancé Jamie Lomas.
But the mother-of-three claims to be the innocent victim of a scam after a man called at her home and offered to remove her rubbish, which had built up during renovation work, for £60.
A spokesperson for the brunette beauty told the Manchester Evening News: "Kym paid someone in good faith to remove the rubbish which had accumulated as a result of work at the house.
"She didn't think any more of it until she heard from Salford council, who wanted to speak to her about rubbish dumped on the roadside.
"She immediately went straight to the council and explained what had happened and was told that if she didn't hear anything within six weeks that would be the end of it.
"This is the first she knew about the summons."
Kym was said to be "horrified" and "very angry" after finding out her rubbish had been dumped at the side of the road.
The brunette star - who plans to tie the knot with Jamie in September - will appear before Manchester magistrates later this month.
