Liz Dawn funeral: Coronation Street cast mourn loss of iconic actress at star-studded service
Coronation Street stars past and present gathered for the funeral of iconic cast member Liz Dawn in Manchester.
Co-stars of Dawn’s, including Kym Marsh, Helen Worth and Anthony Cotton attended the service at Salford Cathedral on October 6.
The show's producers reportedly allowed cast members to finish filming early so they wouldn’t miss the occasion, and arranged a coach so that the group could arrive together.
A funeral sheet from the service featured an image of Dawn, whose real name was Sylvia Ibbetson, in her younger days and a message of thanks from her family.

It read: “Sylvia’s family would to thank you for your attendance here today, for the cards of condolence and Mass intentions which have been a great comfort.”
The actress, who is known for playing legendary cobbles resident Vera Duckworth, died last month aged 77, following a battle with the lung condition emphysema.
Dawn starred as the factory worker for 34 years, beginning her time on the soap in 1974 before leaving in 2008 due to ill health.
She made one final appearance in 2010 for the last scenes of her on-screen husband Jack Duckworth, who was played by Bill Tarney before the actor passed away in 2012.
The soap legend is survived by her four children and her husband Donald Ibbetson whom she married in 1965.
