Mel B has admitted that she’d ‘love’ to be a part of The X Factor again.

The former Spice Girl, who was a judge for just one year in 2014, is keen to return to the show now that spaces have opened up on the panel.

Following news that Rita Ora, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw have all stepped down, the star could be in with a chance.

Speaking on Lorraine, she said: “I’d always love to be part of the X Factor it was a great show.

“Is there a space? This happens every year, it’s always up in the air.”

Speaking about head honcho Simon Cowell, who is the only person confirmed to return, the singer added: “He’s not daft, he knows what he’s doing.”

After Fernandez-Versini and Grimshaw announced that they’d be leaving earlier this year, Ora confirmed her departure this week.

She tweeted: “I had a ball on @TheXFactor last year and will miss the team.”

While nothing has been confirmed, former judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne are thought to be in the running to make a return.

A source told MailOnline: “'Nicole Scherzinger was a huge success when she was on the X Factor a few years ago and has long been part of the X Factor family.

“She provided fun and entertainment and a huge personality to the show. She is the definite favourite to get the seat next to Simon.”
