Mel B has set the rumour mill into overdrive after she reportedly unfollowed her former Spice Girls band mate Mel C on Twitter.

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the singer – real name Melanie Brown – is no longer following Melanie Chisholm.

The news comes weeks after Mel C is said to have dropped out of a Spice Girls reunion to mark 20 years since the band released their hit single, Wannabe.

A source told The Sun. “Mel C is out of the reunion for now. She has essentially left the band to focus on a more serious music career.

“She loves the girls but it just didn’t feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment. She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn’t going to be part of the reunion.”

Victoria Beckham also ruled herself out earlier this year.

The singer turned fashion designer recently admitted that producers used to turn off her microphone during concerts.

“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing," she told Claudia Winkleman. "I got the last laugh - and now my mic is well and truly on, finally.”

Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B are still expected to mark the milestone anniversary and recently shared a photo of themselves during a catch up in Los Angeles.

Wannabe catapulted the five-piece to fame in 1996. The single spent seven weeks at the top of the UK Singles Chart and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks.

Standard Online has contacted a reresentative for Chisholm and Brown for comment.
