Meryl Streep fixes Ryan Gosling's tie in 'perfect moment' at SAG Awards

Meryl Streep turned fashion stylist at the Screen Actors Guild Awards as she helped Ryan Gosling with his bow tie.

Streep, 67, stepped in to help Gosling look his best before the pair posed for a picture together.

The actress was branded a “legend” by fans who described her helping had as the “perfect moment”.

One fan tweeted: “Meryl Streep Helping Ryan Gosling With His Bow Tie Is a Moment Too Pure For This World.”

Another wrote: “Meryl Streep fixing Ryan Gosling's bow tie I LIVED FOR THIS.”

Gosling was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture for his part in La La Land, but lost out on the accolade to Denzel Washington.

Streep was nominated for her role in Florence Foster Jenkins but missed out on the gong to Gosling’s co-star Emma Stone – who said she was close to fainting as she took to the stage to pick up the award.

Speaking to the crowd, she said: “Oh my God, I think I’m going to faint.

“We’re in a tricky time in the world and our country and things are inexcusable and scary and need action.

“I’m so grateful to be part of a group of people that cares and wants to reflect things back to society.”
