Niall Horan ‘to be first’ One Direction star to release solo material
Niall Horan is expected to be the first member of One Direction to release solo material.
While the Irish star has been keeping a low profile since the band went on hiatus last year, he is thought to have signed his own deal with Simon Cowell’s label Syco.
According to The Sun, Horan is gearing up to release his debut solo single early next year, ahead of his bandmates.
“Niall is the band’s secret weapon — Modest and Syco believe he has what it takes to become a break out solo star,” said a source.

“He has the songwriting and music talent, good looks and cheeky Irish personality which made him a favourite in the States.
“A deal with Syco is going to be signed in the coming weeks and Niall is already back in the studio writing.”
The insider added: “There’s a hit single there too, which will probably be released early next year.”
Horan’s band mate Harry Styles is also rumoured to be working on his own music, but has put it on the backburner to concentrate on his acting career.
The 22-year-old is currently shooting scenes for Christopher Nolan’s WWII epic Dunkirk.
Louis Tomlinson is thought to be more interested in pursuing a career in television, while Liam Payne is rumoured to be having a ‘extended break’ from work.
