Nicole Kidman snapped back at trolls as she thanked all of her children at the Critics' Choice Awards after she was criticised for snubbing her adopted son and daughter during her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

Kidman, 50, made sure to thank her whole family as she picked up the Best Actress Award for her role in hit TV series Big Little Lies at Thursday night’s ceremony.

Taking to the stage at Santa Monica Airport's Barker Hangar she said: “I humbly accept this on behalf of all the women on this cast because this is about the ensemble.

“Any actor in this room knows you’re only ever as good as the other actors you work with so this is to all of you.”

Turning to her family she continued: “I want to thank all of my children who show me so much love. I want to thank this community who show up and make really, really fantastic films and TV and give us the opportunity to do what we love.

“I love being an actor. Thank you for letting me do it through to this age and beyond.”

Kidman’s speech comes days after she was branded “savage” for dedicating her Golden Globe gong to her two biological daughters, Sunny and Faith, who she has with husband Keith Urban, and failing to mention her two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, from her relationship with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Speaking to the star studded crown at the Beverly Hilton Hotel she said: “First cab off the rank, that means my daughters are still awake so Sunny, Faith I love you. I’m bringing this home to you babies.”

Big Little Lies was among one of the night’s big winners, scooping Best Limited Series, while Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgard took home Best Supporting Actress and Actor.
