Nicole Scherzinger has told of her “miserable” eight-year battle with bulimia during her time in The Pussycat Dolls.

The 36-year-old, who began therapy after she left the band in 2009, said: “It is such a horrible paralysing disease and it was such a dark time for me. That’s why I can empathise so much with people who have demons and voices in their heads. It robs you of living your life.”

Scherzinger revealed the disorder was so bad she started losing her voice.

She added: “It’s sad how I wasted my life. The Dolls were on top of the world but I was miserable.”
