Aidan Turner has been named the sexiest man alive in a brand new poll.

The Poldark actor, who picked up the Impact prize at last month’s National Television Awards, has topped Glamour magazine’s annual poll.

Turner, 32, became a firm favourite with TV viewers in 2015 thanks to his turns in Poldark and the BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None.

The Fall star Jamie Dornan, who bagged the top spot last year, has been relegated to second position.

He is followed by British actors Tom Hiddleston and Henry Cavill, while Zayn Malik manages to beat his former One Direction band mates to claim fourth position.

Harry Styles is just behind him at number five while Niall Horan is in twelfth position and Louis Tomlinson is at number 15.

Unfortunately for Liam Payne, he is the only member of the boy band not to make the magazine’s top 20.
