Robbie Williams was blasted after failing to help his mother-in-law retrieve her hat after it blew off on route to the Royal Wedding.

Williams was joined by his wife Ayda Field and her mother Gwen Field as they made their way to Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel on Friday morning to watch Princess Eugenie tie the knot with Jack Brooksbank.

But Gwen fell victim to the windy weather which saw her navy hat take off and fly up the road behind her.

Williams stood open-mouthed and failed to help as he watched his mother-in-law run after it.

Viewers were flabbergasted by his idle response with many mocking the fact he put in “zero effort”.

One viewer tweeted: “#RoyalWedding nice of Robbie Williams and Ayda to help her mum with her hat!”

Another wrote: “Robbie didn’t even get his mother in laws hat for her #Royalwedding.”

A third posted: “#RoyalWedding what a gentleman we gave in Robbie Williams, chasing after his mother in law's hat.....NOT!”

Even Eamonn Holmes, who was presenting coverage live with wife Ruth Langsford on This Morning chastised his behaviour.

He said: “Robbie, go after it for her!”

Williams' daughter Theodora ‘Teddy’ Rose is among Eugenie's bridesmaids.

The Queen’s granddaughter and ninth in line to the throne will marry Brooksbank at 11am.

Some 800 people will gather in the venue, where her cousin Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex wed five months ago, including a host of celebrity names who will celebrate the nuptials at the afternoon reception hosted by the Queen.

Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevingne and Demi Moore were among the famous faces.
