Robbie Williams is recording new music with Take That to mark the band’s 25th anniversary, according to reports.

Williams, 42 – who last wrote for the boyband in 2010 – will feature on their forthcoming Greatest Hits album, The Sun reported.

A source told the publication: “Robbie loves being part of the creative process and he has lots to offer.

“He influenced the last album he featured on with his electro sound, which reflected his solo work at the time.

“He’s a changed man since studio sessions back in the day and takes things far more seriously.”

The publication also reported that Williams will join Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald on the band’s tour the following year.

In January, frontman Barlow said it would be “amazing” to have Williams back in the band.

“A Greatest Hits with everyone would be amazing but I personally can’t imagine Jason [Orange] coming back on stage for quite a few years,” he told The Sun. “But if Rob could do something that would be brilliant.”

Williams also teased a come back when he reunited with the group after their concert last year.

Posing alongside his former bandmates backstage at London's O2 he said: "I've just been to see the show of the year @ the o2. I love my boys. Pride, nostalgia, entertained, happy #LETMEBACKIN x."
