Russell Brand has said that he is keen to reconcile with ex-wife Katy Perry following their split six years ago.

The British comedian, who filed for divorce from the pop star after just 14 months of marriage in 2011, admitted that he is “willing” to bury the hatchet and be friends.

“I'm willing and open for reconciliation, any kind,” he told Grazia magazine.

"Because if we can't overcome our relatively trivial personal disputes in this world, what hope is there for us?”

Brand went on to say that his short-lived marriage to the Firework singer was a "very important and lovely time in my life.”

The pair met while shooting a scene for Get Him to the Greek back in 2009 and got engaged on New Year’s Eve that year.
