What a year! 2014 seemed to be full of controversies. Justin Beiber had multiple run-in’s with the law, Tulisa faced a drugs trial, Solange Knowles was caught attacking Jay-Z in a lift, and Kanye West accidentally demanded that a wheelchair user stand up at one of his concerts.

The selfie was also synonymous with 2014. Kim Kardashian announced her selfie book - before cropping her own daughter out of one. Ellen Degeneres took the most tweeted selfie ever, and everybody’s new favourite heartthrob Benedict Cumberbatch photobombed a group photo of U2 at the Oscar’s.

But One Direction star Liam Payne wasn’t so keen on the trend, and a vine surfaced showing him switching from fake smile to fed-up as he posed with fans at the ARIAs.

Power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z were embroiled in divorce rumours, Conchita Wurst won Eurovision, Lady Gaga and her fellow celebs wore less and less, Dolly Parton stormed Glastonbury, and Renée Zellweger debuted a shocking new look.
