Stephen Fry has angered environmentalists for fronting a video for Heathrow airport.

Fry, 58, teamed up with Graham Linehan to create ‘Stephen Fry’s Guide to the UK’ – a tongue-in-cheek video guide for the airport to give visitors tips on etiquette in the UK.

But the former QI host has been accused of “sending mixed messages” to the public after he pushed for a green initiative in a campaign last year.

Asad Rehman, from Friends of the Earth, told The Sun: “It’s a shame someone with his profile would support this.

“He appears to know climate change will be made worse by more capacity at Heathrow. It sends very mixed messages.”

Fry appeared in the Show the Love TV campaign alongside stars including Emilia Fox where he called for climate changed to be stopped.

“It’s time our world felt the love," he said.

“We need to stop climate change so things we love aren’t lost.”

The Unique video guide is available to passengers arriving into Heathrow from this week on the airport’s free WiFi page and the Heathrow Express.

Standard Online has contacted a representative for Fry for comment.
