Taylor Swift praises Jesse Will's slow cover version of hit song Shake It Off

Taylor Swift has praised a slow cover version of her hit song Shake it Off.

The 24-year-old singer took to Twitter to praise vocalist Jesse Will’s stripped back version of the song on an acoustic guitar with a violin accompaniment inside a Church.

Alongside the video Swift tweeted: “My favorite covers are the ones where the artist has made it their own, changing the way the song makes you feel.”

The New Zealand born singer clearly wasn’t expecting the reaction he received as he tweeted, “Here it is @taylorswift13 – you’re gonna hate me” on posting the cover earlier this week.

Wills – who is currently unsigned - performed the track as part of YouTube series Reload Sessions which showcases "the best signed and unsigned music on the internet".

It is not the first time that Swift has praised people for covering her songs.

In September she invited five lucky boys from Transylvania University's Delta Sigma Phi fraternity to her 2015 tour after they posted a link of themselves parodying her video for Shake It Off.

She tweeted: "I'm personally inviting all of these guys (and a date!) to a show on tour next year, it's on me. Nailed it, bros!"
