The Only Way is Essex couple Sam Faiers and Joey Essex are planning their own spin-off TV show.

The reality stars - who began dating in 2011 when Joey joined the popular ITV2 show - have reportedly been discussing plans for their own series, which would follow the couple's on/off romance.

A source who overheard the couple chatting in London's W Hotel told The Sun: "Sam and Joey were talking about how they were going to do their own spin-off show and how they'd love it to be on ITV2.

"Joey said he thought Sam would be perfect starring in her own show and that people would finally get to see her funny side."

Sam, 21, is one of the only original cast members left from the first series of the programme, alongside James 'Arg' Argent, Lydia Bright and Lauren Goodger.

Joey, also 21, has become an integral part of the show since joining in March 2011.

The source added: "Sam was insistent she didn't want to come across as stupid in the show - that was her main focus.

"They both seemed very excited by the new venture."

Joey's manager has played down the plans, saying: "There is nothing official being discussed yet and there are no plans for Joey to go anywhere at the minute.

"But the guys may chat about ideas they have."

Blonde beauty Sam has recently voiced her concerns over being sidelined by producers in favour of new cast members, and hinted her time on 'TOWIE' could be coming to an end.

She said: "I've done five series so there will come a time when I leave.

"I don't want to be there with no new storylines because I've already done everything I can do."

Former TOWIE cast members Mark Wright and Amy Childs both left the soap in order to launch their own spin-off shows.

Mark currently stars in ITV2's 'Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights' and was runner-up on the last series of 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!'

Glamourous Amy appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and starred in Channel 5 fly-on-the-wall series It's All About Amy.
