The hilarious moment Peter Stringfellow’s sink collapsed during his appearance on Come Dine With Me is being remembered in the wake of the nightclub owner’s death.

Among many different tributes to Stringfellow, social media users are taking a moment to remember his appearance on hit Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me when his dinner party was thrown into jeopardy because his sink collapsed in spectacular style.

Stringfellow was just dishing up his main course when there was a loud crash off-camera before turning round to see his ceramic sink had completely caved in.

The cook wasn’t that worried at first, saying that they could get by without a sink, but soon realised that he needed to drain off some food in the sink.

And there was the small matter of water pouring onto his kitchen floor.

Writing on Twitter, one person said: “I think about the Peter Stringfellow episode of Come Dine With Me at least once a week. RIP.”

While another commented: “RIP Peter Stringfellow - I'll always remember you as the guy whose kitchen collapsed on Celebrity Come Dine With Me.”

“As long as I live, I will NEVER forget the Come Dine With Me episode where Peter Stringfellow’s sink fell through whilst he was making pasta. TV gold,” added somebody else.

The episode, from 2008, is available on the demand service from the broadcaster.

Stringfellow’s death was announced on Thursday morning by his publicist Matt Glass. He is survived by his wife, Bella, and four children.
