Victoria Beckham has shared an adorable Father's Day letter to husband David written by their daughter Harper after he was showered with love by his family.

She described her husband as the "best daddy" as she shared a photograph of the former footballer sitting on a car alongside sons Cruz and Romeo and daughter Harper.

Missing from the picture was son Brooklyn, who is at university in New York.

She wrote: "I think they love him x Truly the best daddy @davidbeckham x missing u @brooklynbeckham x."

In another post, she shared a picture of her husband surrounded by cards and presents and holding a mug emblazoned with the word "Daddy".

She captioned it: "Happy Father's Day @davidbeckham to the best daddy in the world!!! X We all love u so much!!! x so many kisses from us all x."

And in her Instagram story she revealed six-year-old Harper had penned a letter titled 'Thank you Daddy, I love you Daddy'.

The note reads: "Thank you Daddy for being kind and helpful, for helping me snow board and do tricks.

“For helping me with my tricky homework, and for helping me paint pretty pictures.”

The letter is illustrated with rainbows and love hearts, the picture showed.

It continues: “Thank you for all the the fun we have together, for hugging me until I almost burst,

“For playing football with me, and for going to smiggle with me.

“Thank you Daddy for making me laugh, for playing the hand wrestle game, for telling me funny jokes, and for playing silly pranks on me.

“Thank you Daddy for being you, for loving me with all your heart, for tickling me in bed, and for taking care of me.

The letter finishes: “Thank you Daddy for being the best in evr. I love you Daddy and hope you have a special day. Harper xoxoxoxo.”

It came as a host of celebrities paid tribute to their dads on social media to mark the special day.

Madonna wished herself a happy Father's Day, describing herself with the hashtag "#momdad".

The Queen of Pop, 59, posted a photo of herself with furry animal ears on Instagram, and asked: "Do I look like a Dad here?

"Wishing myself a Happy Father's Day! #momdad."

The singer, who is not married, has a brood of six children - biological son Rocco and daughter Lourdes, and adopted children David, Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere.
