Zayn Malik has been described as a 'brand' on his first ever solo magazine cover for the new issue of Asians UK.

The pop star, who quit One Direction just a few months ago, has landed his first cover shoot without the band, which reportedly includes an in-depth interview.

Despite the singer claiming that he was leaving the band to concentrate on being a 'normal 22 year old boy', he is described as a 'brand' in the piece, which draws together quotes from some of his biggest fans.

Malik has always been a big supporter of the Asian community, attending last month's Asian Awards with his mother as his date, picking up the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award on the night.

While the singer and his fiancee Perrie Edwards have stayed relatively tight -ipped about his decision to leave One Direction, the Little Mix star recently confirmed that her other half was happy.

She told Ok Magazine: "Zayn is his own person and makes his own decisions. Whatever he wanted to do during that time, I was going to support him 100 per cent.

Asked if she was happier now that Malik was no longer in the band, she said: "Yes. I'm happy if he's happy."

Edwards added: "He's made it, the boys have supported him, I've supported him and his fans have been incredible. It's just the way it is."
