Cheryl Cole will be going up against former X Factor protégé Alexandra Burke to bag the Best Song title at this year's BT Digital Music Awards.

X Factor judge Cheryl mentored former contestant Alexandra and helped her win the fifth series of the talent show.

But after a great year of chart success for both ladies, their singles Fight for this Love and Bad Boys will be going head to head to be crowned song of the year.

The 2010 nominees are a showcase of internationally acclaimed UK artists and with 21 categories on the cards competition is fiercer than ever.

Artists also in the running for Best Song are Taio Cruz, Tinie Tempah, Plan B and Florence & The Machine.

New celeb couple Rochelle Wiseman (The Saturdays) and Marvin Humes (JLS) will battle against each other to win Best Group, whilst a host of new talent including Example and Professor Green will strive to be named Best Newcomer.

This year also sees the introduction of some new categories including Best Place to Hear, Discover and Buy Music, Best Event and Best Music App; reflecting the increased audience engagement and rapid developments in technology that the music industry has seen in recent years.

Fans can now vote for their favourite artists and music sites at www.btdma.com
