Actress Jaime Winstone was left red-faced early today after being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

But she was in the clear — Jaime, who was at the Quo Vadis restaurant in Soho, hadn't had a drink all night.

Drama: Jamie Winstone and Alfie Allen before the arrest

The 24-year-old had been dining with Lily Allen and her brother Alfie, Lily's boyfriend, builder Sam Cooper and TV presenter Alexa Chung.

When Jaime returned to her black car, parked nearby, she was stopped by police on suspicion of being over the limit. She was taken to Charing Cross police station for questioning, but later released.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "At approximately 12.15am a woman was arrested in Frith Street, Soho, on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The 24-year-old woman was taken to a central London police station and later released without further action."

A spokesman for Jaime said today: "Jamie hadn't had a drink all evening. She was just trying to get away from the photographers."

Following the arrest, singer Lily, 24, was seen jumping into a taxi. Jaime's on-off actor boyfriend, Alfie, was spotted talking to the police as they drove off in her Fiat 500.

It was recently reported that Alfie and Jaime had ended their two-year relationship, with her apparently moving out of their home following a series of rows.

But, judging by last night, it looks as though the pair are rock solid again. Jaime has been earning rave reviews in The Fastest Clock In The Universe at the Hampstead Theatre in Swiss Cottage.
