Harry Styles brought his Colombia concert to a halt after eight fans reportedly fainted during his gig in the country’s capital.

The 28-year-old was playing a sold-out show in Bogotá when he noticed multiple fans were in distress in the crowd.

In a clip shared by a fan in attendance, the As It Was singer can be heard saying: “I’m very excited to be here, I know tonight, it’s going to be an amazing show.

“But the most important thing is that everyone in here is safe. There are a lot of people here, it’s warm.”

Fans could be heard shouting “te amo” at the former One Direction star as he calmly directed the audience to all take a step away from the stage, beginning at the back, to stop crowd-crushing.

“Everyone on the floor, really slowly, starting from the back, we’re going to take a couple of steps back – really slowly,” he says.

In another clip from the gig, Styles can be seen asking people at the front if they’re feeling okay, and warns that if things become unsafe he won’t be able to finish the show.

Harry’s crowd control moment comes after fans apparently were heard screaming from the front row that they were suffocating and couldn’t breathe.

MailOnline reported that eight people fainted during the gig. Fans had queued outside the Coliseo Live stadium from 3pm more than six hours before the concert began.

The incident took place weeks after it was reported that he and director girlfriend Olivia Wilde are “taking a break” from each other. The singer began dating the 38-year-old while they were making sci-fi film Don’t Worry Darling, which she also directed.

A source close to the pair said their separation after almost two years together is down to them having “different priorities that are keeping them apart”.

The source told People: “He’s still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in Los Angeles. It’s a very amicable decision. They’re still very close friends. They’re on a break. It’s impossible to have a relationship when he’s in every continent next year and Olivia has her job and her kids.

“This is the right thing for both of them.”
