How to get there

Roads in and around Trafalgar Square will shut from 8pm tomorrow.

The Tube will run to most stations through the night but there will be no Waterloo and City Line.

On the Central line, there will be no service between Woodford and Hainault between 8pm and 6am; on the District line there will be no service to or from Kensington (Olympia) between 11.50pm and 7am.

Covent Garden and Leicester Square will be exit only from 7pm, and closed between 11.45pm and 1.15am. Westminster will close between 11.45pm and 1am.

Borough, Cannon Street, Chancery Lane, Mornington Crescent and Temple will close at normal week day times and remain closed throughout New Year's Day, while Shoreditch will be closed all day on New Year's Eve.

From 7.30pm, buses will be withdrawn from central London. There will be no night buses from Oxford Street, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Green Park, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall or Parliament Square.

Night buses will still go from Aldwych, Euston, Holborn, Hyde Park Corner, Marble Arch, Portman Square, Victoria and Warren Street.

Many mainline rail routes will have additional services before 1am and there will be special services between 1am and 5am: Liverpool Street to Shenfield; Paddington to Slough/Reading; Charing Cross to Bromley North via Lewisham; Charing Cross to Dartford via Greenwich; Charing Cross to Dartford via Sidcup; Victoria to East Croydon via Norbury; Victoria to Orpington via Bromley South; Victoria to Dartford via Lewisham and Bexleyheath; Waterloo to Kingston via Richmond; Waterloo to Kingston via Wimbledon.
