Vapour

Describing itself as a 'celebration of independent labels', Vapour kicked off last night (Thur 30 Oct) and runs right through until Sun morning with events at Cargo, Hoxton Hall, Catch, Legion, The Coronet Theatre, On The Rocks, 333 and the Rhythm Factory.

Labels involved in this huge party include Haywire, Heavenly, Lex, Adam Freeland's Marine Parade, Memphis Industries, Mish Mash, Moshie Moshi, Rephlex, Sonik Mook, Twisted Nerve, Wall Of Sound, Warp, Wichita and Diesel-U Music.

The event is the brainchild of Cymon Eckel (one of the men behind the fabled Boys Own parties) and Marcus Weedon, who put on their first Vapour night in a massive warehouse back in 1998.

Artists making us dance over the weekend include Australian live act Infusion, Tiefschwarz, Zoot Woman (above), Andrew Weatherall, Blue States, Fort Lauderdale, Plaid, AFX, Luke Vibert, Danger Mouse, Patrick Forge, Ross Clarke, Chicano, Bass Junkie, Sean McLusky, Andy Votel, The Nextmen, Misty Dixon, Joey Negro, Heavenly Jukebox, Jazzanova and the mighty Doves.

All in all, a cracking idea and one of the most refreshing and exciting dance events staged in yonks. Phone or visit www.vapour.co.uk for full details about who's on at each venue.
