Kate Moss is poised to return to London this weekend to face allegations of drug misuse.

Sources have told the Standard the supermodel is likely to be back in Britain for the first time since she was pictured snorting cocaine in September.

Police say they will not be arresting her and detectives will not formally be questioning her. But is believed that she will talk with lawyers and senior officers informally.

If the 32-year-old model admits snorting cocaine it is expected she will receive an official caution but will not be charged with Class A offences. It had been reported that Moss, who is staying at the Ritz in Paris, was so worried about facing police she would not return to Britain and planned to set up home in Los Angeles.

If she does receive a caution it could make it difficult for her to travel to the USA.

Her agent today refused to confirm exactly when the supermodel would be back on British soil.

But he said: "She will be returning to Britain to meet the police when the arrangements are made. She has made it absolutely clear she will cooperate with any police enquiry. Kate has no intention whatsoever of setting up a permanent home at America."

Moss's ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty was behind bars today after admitting possessing heroin.

The Babyshambles frontman pleaded guilty at Thames magistrates court. He was remanded in custody until 8 February when he was already due to appear at Ealing magistrates court to be sentenced for possessing class A drugs.

His band had been due to play in London on Sunday.

Refusing bail, District Judge Stephen Dawson told the singer: "I am sorry if my order will affect your fans."

He will also appear before Thames magistrates on Monday to face a charge of driving while unfit through drugs.
