Loose Women star Sophie Morgan is in hospital after having complications following a recent operation.

The TV presenter, 37, gave the update to fans as she posted a photo of herself in hospital on Wednesday.

Morgan, who is a paraplegic and supporter of disabled people’s rights, said that it takes “a lot of energy” for disabled people to fight illnesses as she explained her medical visit.

The panellist wrote on Instagram: “Progress Update: Letter to PM from MP about to be circulated for signatures.

“Aviation experts consulting. Campaign launching next week. Global partnerships being established.”

Morgan continued: “In the hospital atm. Complications post minor op.

“Sharing this to highlight that it takes a LOT for disabled ppl to find the energy to fight when their bodies are a battleground as is.”

Morgan’s hospital trip comes amid her battle with British Airways as she’s claimed the company “destroyed” her £5,000 wheelchair.

Last month, the panellist said she was left feeling “unsafe” after flying into London’s Heathrow from Los Angeles, as she discovered her wheelchair, which she relies on, had been “damaged”.

Morgan suffered serious injuries after crashing a car at age 18. She had been travelling with four friends and was left trapped underneath the overturned vehicle, fracturing her skull, nose and back.

The ITV star later rose to fame presenting Channel 4’s Paralympic Games before joining Loose Women.

Morgan received much support from fans in regards to her incident with British Airways, along with her recent hospital visit.

Following her complaints made in January, the flight company publicly apologised in response.

A BA spokesperson said: “We’re extremely sorry for Sophie’s experience and we’re investigating what happened as a matter of urgency.

“We’ve been in contact with Sophie to sincerely apologise and to resolve the matter with her directly.

“It’s extremely disheartening when things go wrong, and we don’t underestimate the impact this has.”

They added: “We’re committed to ensuring we deliver a consistently good service, and we’ll be working closely with Sophie and our dedicated accessibility teams to discuss how we can continue to make improvements to ensure a great flying experience for everyone.”
