As the Oxo mum she was the epitome of wholesome family life.

But it has taken Lynda Bellingham a lot longer than her much-loved television persona to find similar domestic happiness.

After two disastrous marriages, the 60-year-old actress has finally revealed her joy after she wed her 'soulmate' Michael Pattemore.

The couple tied the knot ten days ago in front of 300 guests at a star-studded ceremony at the Wren Church of St Stephen Walbrook in London.

However, eyebrows were raised after the couple first announced their romance in 2004. It was then revealed Pattemore had served a two-year jail sentence for fraud in 1997.

On his release he initially moved to Spain to work as a property broker before uprooting and returning to England two years ago to move in with Miss Bellingham.

Following the wedding, guests including Cilla Black, Ingrid Tarrant and Christopher Biggins all attended a lavish reception at rooftop restaurant Coq d'Argent.

The actress said she had combined the ceremony with celebrations for her 60th birthday last month.

"I tend to be the sort of person who doesn't dwell on the past, but it suddenly seemed an appropriate moment to celebrate four decades of friendships," she said.

"How wonderful that I can do so on a day that I marry someone that I love and adore, having thought I would never marry again."

Bellingham, who found fame via a 16-year run of Oxo TV adverts, divorced her first husband Greg Smith after just one year, later dismissing their marriage as 'a mistake'.

Her second marriage to Italian restaurateur Nunzio Peluso, ended 12 years ago and she admitted she was a victim of physical and mental abuse.

The couple had two sons, Michael and Robbie, now both in their twenties.

She met Pattemore during a chance trip to Spain with a friend who was buying a flat and he proposed last year.

Speaking about their relationship, she told Hello! magazine: "I've found my soulmate. Michael and I think alike. We have the same sense of humour. We find each other attractive.

"Ours is a relationship between two people who love and respect one another. These are all the things I've ever expected from a relationship but never had. To be honest, I still can't quite believe it."

Miss Bellingham has always ignored her husband's criminal past saying: "He was a small pawn in a financial scam. Michael has done his stint and it should be left to rest."
