Patsy Kensit is about to set the fur flying as she joins the cast of Emmerdale.

She posed by the Woolpack pub and the famous Emmerdale sign after filming her opening scenes.

Kensit, 36, arrives in the Yorkshire village next month.

She makes a dramatic entrance when she touches down by helicopter, dressed to kill in a fur coat.

The three-times divorced star said she was nervous but excited about her new role.

"It's been like starting a new school," she said. "Any job is nerve wracking at first but as soon as I received my first scripts I've just been beside myself with excitement.

"The cast have been incredibly welcoming and Sadie is going to be so much fun to play."

Kensit plays the wife of wealthy businessman Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and her first scenes will be shown on May 10.

Sadie is a scheming seductress who will stop at nothing to get her own way.
"She is a seductive, powerful and manipulative woman who knows what she wants and makes sure she gets it," a show spokesman said.

Producers hope her character will be a worthy successor to the soap's last superbitch, Kim Tate.

Kensit has been acting since the age of five when she appeared in an advert for Birds Eye peas.

Her most famous role was as Mel Gibson's love interest in the movie Lethal Weapon 2.
